Overview
OGVO Ghana offers Medical Lab Tech placement in Ghana. Lab techs work in diverse settings which include health care, industry, research and educational institutions. Lab techs may work in a wide variety of fields such as medicine, biology, chemistry, electronics, geology and the environment.
A medical lab technician intern/volunteer or students of said field may apply for this placement, as help is greatly needed. However, your duties and responsibilities would naturally depend on your qualifications and experience.
Important Information
At this placement a medical lab technician intern/volunteer would be required to work in a traditional laboratory setting where he/she would receive, process and analyse samples. Depending on the work setting, the samples may consist of blood and/or tissue. Though, at times the laboratory at the hospital may be asked to analyse samples of air, water and soil (environment and public health) or chemical products (chemical and pharmaceutical industry).
A medical lab technician intern/volunteer would be expected to conduct chemical analysis of body fluid, including blood, urine and spinal fluid to determine presence of normal and abnormal components; this may also include the collection of the specimens too.
