- This is a great opportunity to learn about the dental dynamics in Nepal and gain a global perspective on healthcare!
Overview
Under the dentist’s and the staff’s supervision, interns will carry out various tasks to assist them, such as helping with the front desk, sanitizing dental tools, and inputting data during examinations. The dentist may assign you more roles as you familiarize yourself with the daily routine of the office, brushing and flossing methods, healthy food habits, and simple procedures such as fluoride varnishes and sealants or shadowing at whichever dental office they prefer, and it is likely that the dentist will allow them to help with simple patient care, such as by assisting with suction and handling equipment. Interns will also reflect on what they have learned the past few weeks as a group towards the end of the week. Guest lecturers may be invited, and students will review basic diagnoses and treatment plans. These dentists will give you a more detailed insight into their specialty, so that students can begin thinking about which branch of dentistry interests them most.
