Overview

Emergency Departments are hospital units where you can seek urgent medical care and treatment. Most major public hospital EDs are open 24 hours a day and have highly trained physicians and other healthcare professionals on-site to deal with emergencies. Interns will Learn about patient management attend rounds with physicians, assume the role of a medical scribe, learn about individualizing further treatment or admission, assist physicians and nurses as required. Interns will have an opportunity to shadow physicians inside the operating rooms. The following and final week interns may assist in triage, attend rounds and review patients' progress with physician, shadow physicians during patient consultations, work closely with other healthcare professionals and learn about individualized discharge plans. Activities will differ by department, and students will follow the directions of the head coordinator.
