Overview

We extend a warm invitation for your participation in our esteemed Work Exchange Program hosted at Iguana Surf in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. In this program, participants are expected to contribute a total of 24 hours per week, offering the flexibility to determine daily hours and workdays in accordance with the company's preferences. Any variations in the schedule will be communicated by the on-duty manager.

The heart and soul of this program lie in providing exceptional guest reception and hospitality services at our surfcamp hotel. Your primary focus will be centered around conducting room checks, performing occasional reception duties, and ensuring that guests have a memorable experience. This also entails hosting our surf campers, including coordinating activities like sunset gatherings, local events, tours, and offering recommendations for entertainment options in town. This role is the cornerstone of our program, and we encourage you to prioritize it to the fullest extent.

In addition to your hosting responsibilities, we do have around 4 hours of service in the surf shop and around 2 hours at the hotel, with potential overlap between these roles. Any additional hours devoted to work on a given day may translate into extra days off, as per program guidelines. While the retail component is valuable, your primary duty is to ensure the comfort and satisfaction of our guests, particularly the surf campers.

The success of your role is contingent on cultivating friendly, attentive, and respectful interactions with guests, customers, and colleagues. To ensure that you are thoroughly prepared for your hosting responsibilities, we provide a comprehensive two-week training and orientation period before assigning independent tasks.
