Overview
Do you have a passion for working with disadvantaged children? Do you want to travel to Costa Rica and give back to the children in need?
IFRE works in collaboration with local organizations to support underprivileged Costa Rican children. We work hard to provide adequate care and attention to the needy children, street children, and kids who have been removed from abusive and dysfunctional homes. Joining this program gives you the rare opportunity to make a real difference in the future of Costa Rican underprivileged children from a variety of backgrounds.
When you join this program, you will support the local care center to care for the children and educate them both on school subjects and personal matters like hygiene and self-care. You will also teach them English and engage in extra-curricular activities. Your selfless dedication and support will make a great difference in their lives plus motivate and encourage them to lead happy and thriving lives in the future.
Important Information
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Intermediate level Spanish is required. If you cannot speak more than basic Spanish, we suggest you enroll in our Spanish language course to make your stay more rewarding – both for you and for the children you are helping in the project.
According to the Criminal Records Review Act, all volunteers who are enrolled in programs that include a practicum component involving working with children or vulnerable adults will have to undergo a criminal record check before they will be permitted to register for volunteering.
