Overview
Los Monos, Selva y Vida is a Swiss-Ecuadorian non-profit organization created in Puyo in 2007 by Yvan Bouvier and Véronique Grand, with the aim of protecting the fauna, flora and indigenous traditions of the Ecuadorian Amazon.
Ecuador is one of the countries in the world with the richest biodiversity and its forests are home to thousands of species that could end up in danger of extinction if we do nothing to protect them.
Wildlife shelter “Paseo de los Monos” opened in order to serve as a refuge for wild animals in the province of Pastaza. In our sanctuary, we harbor more than 200 animals who became orphaned or badly injured due to illegal trafficking. We give shelter to many specimens which include primates, procyonids, reptiles, felines, parrots and other large and medium mammals.
The Paseo de los Monos is open to the public who can come and admire these majestic animals. We also offer for those who wish, a volunteer program at the center to help the animals
