Overview
The Wildlife Rescue Centre, based on a natural conservation farm in La Concordia Canton, Ecuador, is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of endangered wildlife. The ultimate goal is to reintroduce these animals into their natural habitats, restoring their freedom. The centre collaborates with organizations such as the National Police, the Ministry of the Environment, NGOs, and other conservation groups.
Volunteers work 5 days a week, with 2 days off, though these may vary depending on the program's needs. Upon arrival, volunteers will coordinate their schedule with the program staff. The Wildlife Rescue Centre functions year-round, from January 2 to December 23. Volunteer tasks range from animal rescue and health assessments to diet preparation and environmental education. Volunteers may also assist with market activities and maintenance work related to paths and enclosures. Additionally, there may be opportunities to join release teams, reintroducing animals to their natural habitats across the country.
