Do you want to volunteer in Ghana and use your human resources to help communities with important infrastructure? Then consider this offer. You'll work alongside local people to construct facilities such as clinics, classrooms, toilet outlets, libraries, ICT labs or homes. This practical experience will impact enormously on other peoples lives whiles leaving you with a lot to share.

The building works you undertake enable you to physically see the effort you have put in before leaving Ghana. Everything you do is part of our efforts to improve quality of life for people living in relatively disadvantaged areas.

As a volunteer, you’ll work in one of the many little villages or towns found in Ashanti, Central and Upper East regions and stay with a local host family. Enjoy traditional Ghanaian culture such as food, drinks and other regalia from the street or markets and visit national parks-tourist sites over weekends.

Our Building Project in Ghana is available from as little as a week, and you can choose when to start at any time throughout the year. We encourage you to stay for as long as possible. Duration of the stay will be determined by the project you want to undertake and how quick it is executed, thus in your own terms.

The project runs all year round, you can start on any day, and it’s fully supervised. So all you need to do is decide on some dates, complete our booking form and then we’ll consider it and ask you to pay a deposit and we’ll take care of the rest.

What will I do as a volunteer on the Building Project in Ghana?

You’ll help with the construction of classrooms, clinics, toilet units, libraries, or homes in the Ashanti, Central and Northern regions. During the project, you will:
- Prepare building materials from scratch using available resources
- Build or renovate classrooms and community buildings
- Add finishing touches to the buildings you construct
- Improve the learning environment for children by adding educational materials to classroom walls
- Construct a health facility to provide affordable health delivery and treatment.

A typical day on the Building Project in Ghana

The tropical Ghanaian climate is warm and humid with the temperatures reaching over 30 degrees at midday. Because of this, you’ll start your work day at 8.30am and end around 12.30pm, with a 15 minute break around mid-morning.

Each morning, you’ll wake up in your host family’s home and put on your working gear. To get to the construction site, you’ll catch a tro tro or a shared taxi or even order bolt/uber.

In your leisure time, you can visit Cape Coast and learn more about the country’s history of slave trade by visiting the castles and museums in the area. With warm weather year round, Ghana is also perfect if you’d like to spend the day relaxing on the beach or exploring one of the many national parks.
