Overview

About the program
In Ghana, high rates of communicable diseases like malaria, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and diarrhea are prevalent, particularly in rural areas with limited healthcare access. Volunteers will be deployed to these communities to raise awareness about these diseases and educate residents on prevention.

Volunteers will use school worship sessions on Wednesdays to teach students about basic health practices, emphasizing interactive methods like handwashing demonstrations. They'll also provide free health screenings for diseases like malaria, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, cholera, and promote personal hygiene.

These communities are close to volunteers' homestays, and most residents understand English, facilitating communication. Volunteers will work alongside ChildConnect Ghana staff and healthcare professionals, committed to improving the health of vulnerable individuals.

If volunteers wish to present on specific topics, they can discuss it with ChildConnect Ghana via email at childconnectghana@gmail.com.
