Overview

Do you love teaching English to younger generations? Have you always dreamed of traveling and volunteering in Ghana?

Even though the English language is the official language of Ghana, it is not the first language of the majority of Ghanaians. Young Ghanaian children learn to speak English in schools. However, the schools in rural and poor areas are over-populated and lack the skilled and experienced English teachers. As a result, kids often cannot develop the necessary English language skills. Our English teaching volunteer program in Ghana aims to help improve the English skills of the young Ghanaian children. As English is a vital skill, schoolchildren in Ghana are eager to learn, and love to have a native-speaking teacher to teach them. The skills you impart will be of critical importance for the children’s future, and you will be directly responsible for giving them a better chance at a successful and thriving adult life.

As an English teacher volunteer in Ghana, you will work to enhance the students’ ability to comprehend and speak in English. You will also be arranging and leading various extracurricular and creative activities such as games, sports, drawing, singing and dancing. For your classes, a curriculum and textbook will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring storybooks or other teaching materials that you believe will enhance the learning experience.

Important Information
