Overview
Are you seeking an opportunity to gain international medical experience? Do you want to experience the rich Guatemalan cultures and natural sceneries? Guatemala is a developing country and a vast majority of its people suffer from poverty and lack access to basic healthcare facilities. The public hospitals that cater to these poor population are overcrowded and have long waiting periods. They also struggle to keep with modern medical advancements and lack funding and manpower. As a result, the people from impoverished communities continue to suffer from many health issues.
By participating in this volunteer program, you will work in a local hospital or clinic to provide medical care to the people in need. You will assist the doctors and medical staffs, shadow them and learn from them. Through your duties will vary depending on your qualification and experience, your general tasks will include collecting patient information, providing minor treatment and medication, and promoting health education. This program will provide you with a wonderful opportunity to gain a rewarding hands-on experience in the medical field while making a difference in the lives of many people who are desperately in need of healthcare. Your support will help improve the lives of many people and make a positive impact in their health and well-being.
