Overview
Are you interested in or have experience in healthcare and a thirst for an adventure abroad? Are you looking to learn while working alongside professional medical doctors in Nepal? Nepal is among the poorest countries in the world and has suffered various problems due to lack of proper development in many sectors, including health care. Due to the inadequacy of required medical resources along with lack of trained and experienced personnel, the rural and poor citizens have endured a lot. The poor communities have little or no access to hospitals or clinics and thus suffer from treatable or preventable ailments.
As a volunteer, you will work in a local hospital and help with various duties around dht hospital under the guidance of medical staffs. Through your exact responsibilities will depend on the level of your skills, you will be involved in general duties like taking patient’s measurements and monitoring their condition, providing them suitable advice and assisting with tests and conducting medical awareness programs. You will learn from doctors through observation during various treatments.
Your efforts in this program will raise health awareness in the community, improve the health of the whole community and prevent common prevalent diseases. You will utilize your skills to provide critical care to the patients who are in desperate need of medical help. You will also provide support to the local staffs and improve the healthcare system of Nepal while gaining a meaningful hands-on medical experience.
Important Information
Volunteers below the age of 18 years will need to submit parental consent or must be accompanied by an adult guardian. You need to be a pre-med student, nursing or medical student or have a professional background in Medical or Healthcare for this program.
