Overview

The English language is becoming more and more popular in Nepal. However, the level of English proficiency among its residents, especially in rural areas, is far from satisfactory. Local schools often lack funding, experienced teachers and learning materials to teach English to children. As a result, they might lose out on employment opportunities in the future.
IFRE Volunteers teaching English in Nepal program helps these children to improve their English language skills.

After joining the Teach in Nepal volunteer project, you will volunteer either in a private or a public school. You will teach conversational English to children and help them with their homework. You will also facilitate the organization of recreational and artistic activities and assist local teachers with curriculum development and other duties.

When required, you will help school administration with daily tasks. To participate in this project, you should be fluent in English. Other than that, there are no specific qualifications needed for teaching English volunteers in Nepal. Your volunteering work will encourage the students to start speaking English and face the world with confidence.

Important Information

There are no specific qualifications needed to join IFRE's project beyond having a strong fluency in English, both written and verbal. No teaching certification is required.
