Overview
The Exotic Primate Sanctuary is a lively refuge for approximately 200 rescued primates across 11 species, including some that are critically endangered. Volunteering here offers a thrilling opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of these remarkable animals. You’ll gain hands-on experience, contribute to crucial research and educational initiatives, and build lasting connections with both the primates and their dedicated caretakers. Important Information
Volunteer Duties:
Food Preparation and Feeding: Prepare and serve meals, monitor primate health during feedings.
Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean enclosures, maintain facilities, build and repair enclosures.
Enrichment: Create and implement enrichment activities to stimulate the primates.
Health and Veterinary Care: Assist with introductions, care for sick primates, and administer medications.
General Assistance: Shop for food, participate in market days, and manage blankets.
Daily Schedule:
05:45: Food prep and feeding.
07:30 - 07:50: Breakfast break.
07:50 - 11:45: Morning volunteer duties.
11:45 - 12:30: Lunch break.
12:30 - 15:30: Afternoon tasks.
15:30: Return to the cottage to relax and prepare supper.
