Medical volunteer experience in Sri Lanka is an eye-opening experience, providing you with a great deal of international work experience in a variety of departments. While working as a medical volunteer in Sri Lanka, you will be placed at the THK hospital. THK is the main training facility for the Faculty of Medicine. It consists of 1560 beds, 54 wards, and several other units.

Your daily activities include providing basic first aid, dispensing the necessary medications to the patients, stitching and dressing wounds, helping patients with physical therapy and rehabilitation, giving immunizations, and promoting health education. At times, you will also get involved in raising awareness among local people about the importance of personal hygiene.
