Overview

Are you looking for a chance to make a difference and gain international medical experience? Have you dreamt of experiencing a fascinating country while gaining invaluable medical experience abroad? Tanzania is a developing country with a vast majority of its people struggling with poverty and diseases. The people from poorer communities suffer the most from health issues due to lack of sanitation and health awareness. Many of these poor people are also not able to afford proper medical treatment in a timely manner causing them to suffer as well as spread the diseases they have in the community. The hospitals and clinics working to serve the underprivileged communities are lacking in resources and medical staffs.

In this program, you will assist the doctors and medical staffs in the local hospitals or clinics. Depending on your area of study and expertise, you may be placed in various departments like emergency, pediatrics, gynecology, physical therapy etc. Your duties will also vary accordingly. However, your daily tasks will involve taking care of patients and monitoring their health, providing first aid and treating minor conditions, raising heal education in the community as well as helping with administration and maintenance work. Through this program, you will help improve the lives of many people from improvised communities by providing them with adequate health care. This will greatly enhance their quality of life and health, and will also improve the community’s overall health. By raising health awareness, you will also help prevent various diseases and illness. You will also get a wonderful opportunity to observe doctors and medical staffs at work, improve your medical skills and learn how to manage limited resources.
