Overview

The goal of this project is to support individuals with special needs in Uganda by enhancing their access to care and education.

Volunteers will work in special needs schools or treatment centers, helping both in-patients and out-patients. This project is ideal for compassionate and patient individuals who are passionate about promoting inclusivity for people with special needs.

Your tasks may include assisting teachers, vocational training, providing care, and engaging in recreational activities with individuals in their free time.

No prior experience or training is necessary since you'll receive guidance from local staff. Volunteers with relevant training can assist more independently with therapies, education, and hygiene. If you have expertise in a specific area, please mention it in your application to help with placement. Be open to working in various roles, and note that some placements may require up to an hour of travel each way on public transport.
