Overview
Are you looking to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged children and provide them with vital skills to compete in the job market? Have you ever wanted to see the beautiful scenery and fascinating culture Uganda is famous for?
Uganda has shown considerable progress in recent years. Despite this its quality of education remains weak and having access to English education is a formidable challenge for the Ugandan population, especially in the schools of the rural areas, where education is below par. These schools are underfunded and lack the services of expertly trained teachers. As a result, children find it difficult to improve their English language skills. RCDP's volunteering opportunities partners with local schools to improve the quality of English education.
When you join this volunteer teaching program in Uganda, you will teach basic English in either primary or secondary schools. You will try to improve your student's conversational skills, support recreational and artistic activities, and organize creative activities that encourage learning. Other times, you will assist the fulltime local teacher with their class duties. When needed, you will be helping the school administration in their daily tasks too. This impactful experience will help these kids to speak English with confidence in order to make a living in the future.
