Overview
Join our Uganda project to assist those who don’t have access to education and are wanting to make better futures for themselves and their families. Beneficiaries hope to learn to read and communicate in English, to gain business skills to increase their family’s income or to support their children with their studies. Providing vocational training. Many of these women also have to support their families.
Important Information
Join women empowerment volunteer abroad program with Saint Ann Foundation and contribute towards helping the women dwelling in the developing countries like Uganda. Being a volunteer with us, you'll get to work with underprivileged Women directly aiming by providing them with a regular source of income. It's only when you travel to these countries and join the journey, will you get to know how different lives can be for women in a world where the struggles of daily life are absolutely real in every sense of the term.

Discussion groups are organized for girls and women to focus on things such as their life paths, emotional and social issues, sexual and reproductive health, personal safety and women’s rights. Sports activities are also encouraged to engage the girls. Other areas where volunteer support is required, include: improving adult literacy, completing manual work to refurbish community areas, working to provide education access for all and helping alleviate the challenges faced by Uganda teachers.
The local community is very excited about this program and, even though it was only launched in early 2020, it is already proving to be a success. Women are developing sewing skills and girls are participating in an after-school programs.
Role of the volunteer
You will be involved in a variety of interesting activities to help the women and girls in the community. These include:
• Sewing and tailoring
• Jewelry creation
• Helping women to get finance for their start-up businesses
• Distributing menstrual pads to women and girls
• sports activities with girls, aged 12-15
• farming activities with girls and women
• running girl’s awareness and reflection workshops on subjects such as: menstruation, early pregnancy, safety, girl’s rights and sexual health
