For travellers passing through and with limited time, this safari offers a breath taking opportunity to explore the rich wildlife of Khwai and Moremi Game Reserve. Travellers will be delighted with the abundance of animals and birds they will encounter in such a short period. Definitely, it is worth taking advantage of the time available to see magnificent creatures and unbelievable sceneries.
- Day 1 - Transfer from Maun International Airport. Scenic flight over the Okavango Delta
Planet Safari guide will meet you at Maun International airport and transfer you to your lodge/camp where you can unpack, shower and relax. An optional scenic flight in the afternoon gives you a wide aerial view of the Okavango Delta, pre-arrangement required.
- Day 2 - Maun- Moremi Game reserve
We make an early start and drive through traditional villages before crossing buffalo fence, announcing ourselves in a game area. We drive through the concession area where we will see our first animals like Impala, giraffes and elephants.
We enter Moremi Game Reserve through South gate, and our route takes us on a fascinating drive through ever changing landscape, mopane forests, floodplains and lagoons. Arrive in camp in time to set up, shower and relax before dinner is saved.
Overnight Moremi(Thirdbridge campsite) - Day 3 - Moremi Game Reserve
Morning and afternoon game drives in Moremi should reveal a large variety of wildlife. Leisure time between the game drives in the mid-day.
Overnight Moremi - Day 4 - Moremi - Khwai
After a leisurely breakfast we pack up and slowly making our way towards Khwai. We stop at Dombo hippo pool for lunch before exiting Moremi game reserve through North gate. Our drive takes us through Khwai village before getting to our campsite at Khwai safari grounds.
Overnight Khwai. - Day 5 - Khwai
Morning and afternoon game drives in Khwai should give us more opportunity of seeing a lot of animals.
The Khwai concession area is a wildlife-rich 180,000ha gemon the fringes of the Okavango Delta - sandwiched between Moremi game reserve and Chobe national park. With no fences separating Khwai from other areas, you are likely to see about everything.
Overnight Khwai - Day 6 - Khwai - Maun
After a delicious breakfast we pack up and slowly do a nice drive along Khwai river, searching for those animals avoided us so far before we finally head towards Maun.
Lunch en-route! Your guide will drop you at your lodge and airport transfer can be arranged for your onward journey.
