Overview
Chad TT is the biggest and most comprehensive tour operator in the country. Our catalog and team takes in the whole range that Chad has to offer, not just the animal-packed National Parks and the desert-winding serpentine river…but the cultures and features of the creeping Sahel, where life is hard and nature is harsher, and the sublime spectacular Sahara, where humans prove their fortitude and determination for survival in the persistence of desert tribes and of timeless and proud ways of life…even of whole cities…over millennia. Come to the furthest edge of your known world, and the farthest away from home you’ll ever feel.
In this journey, you will be immersed in Chad's landscapes, waterways and deserts, villages and urban. Some of the closest prominent natural monuments and features of the Chadian Sahel and Oases will be viewed on this tour. Designed for people in town with very little time, or on business.
All City Tours with Chad TT are with professional guides (no amateurs,) local expert, with private clean secure vehicles. All guides speak English as well as French, and are licensed and educated about the history of Chad spanning from the end of WWII and the German aerial bombing through to the present day state of the economy and law.
- Day 1 - Departure 8:00 towards 80km from Ndjamena to Douguia
Further 35 km, the site of the Hadjer Lamis (Rock of the elephants) is a mountain formation in granite formed silently into shapes like an elephant. Return to the tourist camp on the banks of the Chari river, and enjoy the hearty restaurant where you can taste the good fresh captain fish, while little monkeys roam around our table.
The village of Douguia is located at 1km from our camp, and is typical with its earthen houses style spanning from Sudanese to Nigerienne and Libyan inspirations and styles. At the narrow streets leading to the banks of the Chari river, the women and children are engaged in daily household activities along the river. Relax and around 16h return to N'djamena.

A day tour of the city of Ndjamena always includes its colorful market, the National Museum, the Cathedral, the Great Mosque, and the artisanal center. Besides these main cliche sites, we show you local life and secret backstreets, sides of the culture, the capital, and the life in Chad no guidebook can grant you access to.
