Then we will reach the village of Agios Giorgos, to see and photograph the wreckage of a ship stranded on the shore during a short stop.
SEA CAVES
Going further along the shoreline, we finally reach one of the most unusual places - the Sea Caves. For thousands of years, sea water has carved amazing shapes in the soft chalk rocks, creating a truly lunar landscape. You will have a photo break here. After enjoying the beautiful views of the Sea Caves, we go by jeeps, the very ridge of the low mountain ranges of the Acamas Peninsula - from where you can recognize the beautiful panorama of the National Park - to go down to the sea again from the other side of the Peninsula. It is here, on the shores of the peninsula, where the sea has an unusual color and is transparent for several meters.
LATCHI - FISHING VILLAGE - PORT
We descend to the small fishing village of Latchi, located by the sea. It has become a holiday resort and delights tourists with its picturesque port.
BLUE LAGOON - THE BLUE LAGOON
It is here in the port of Latchi that you will be waiting for your boat, which will take you on an unforgettable 2.5-hour cruise to the Blue Lagoon. During the cruise on the ship you will be able to take advantage of free juices, wine and fruit. Sailing by boat you will be able to admire the coast of Acamas on the way passing Baths of Aphrodite, St. Gorga, Church of St. Gorga, the ancient Acamantis Theater, Sea Caves, and finally we will reach the Fontana Amoroza Cape located at the very tip.
Note: The ship has a glass bottom through which you will be able to admire the sea depths, undermined rocks, fauna and flora, all you need to do is go down to the lower deck as we approach the rocks and small islands.
Once you reach the place called the Blue Lagoon - none of you will have any doubts that we are in this place - where the incredibly blue, warm and crystal clear water creates excellent conditions for bathing and diving. It is here that the boat stops for an hour, close to the coast. You can enjoy your time by bathing, diving, sunbathing or tasting fruit, and sipping the wine or juices served.
Then, after enjoying the baths, we return to the accompaniment of music to the port of Latchi, from where we get into the jeeps and go to the Baths of Aphrodite.
BATHS OF APHRODITE
From the port, we travel by jeeps to the next tourist attraction - a place called the Baths of Aphrodite, where, according to legend, Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love and Beauty, used to take a bath in a natural grotto surrounded by fig trees.
Fun fact: legend has it that whoever washes his face in this place will be forever beautiful and young ... so it does not hurt to try. Here you will have free time to stroll through the beautiful gardens and enjoy the picturesque views that can be seen from here on the Acamas Peninsula. You can also optionally go for lunch in a beautifully situated tavern - additionally payable (cost about 12 - 13 euro).
LARA BAY - LARA BAY
On the way back, we will drive off-read roads across the peninsula and drive down the other side to the beautiful and wild beach of Lara Bay - a turtle breeding place - protected by law as a nature reserve. On the beach - in special shelters - there are photos from the life of turtles and the driver will tell you about their habits and the long routes that females travel to reproduce on these wild and beautiful beaches.
Fun fact: Turtles lay up to 200 eggs in hot sand, and then bury them at the appropriate depth so that the eggs are kept at a favorable temperature. These places are then fenced with special metal baskets to protect them. The turtles hatch at night and quickly run towards the sea to protect themselves from potential predators such as birds and snakes. For those interested, additional free time for a bath can be agreed with the driver.
