The tour will take you to the UNESCO heritage site, Lalibela, the
Danakil Depression in Ethiopia and Lac Abe, Lac Asale, Tadjourah in Djibouti and
Hargessa and Port Saylac in Somaliland.
- Day 1 - Arrival Addis Ababa
Regardless of the arrival time our team will pick you from the airport and transfer to Hotel For
morning arrivals, optional visit to the Ethnographic Museum, a great introduction to Ethiopian
culture and history. If time allows, visit the Mercato, one of Africa's largest outdoor markets, and
Trinity Cathedral, resting place of Emperor Haile Selassie. Overnight Hotel - Addis Ababa - Day 2 - Addis Ababa – Lalibela
Fly to Lalibela on Ethiopian Airline tour the magnificent rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, a
UNESCO World Heritage site. This group of eleven monolithic and semi-monolithic structures
were carved directly into the stone of the mountainside at least 800 years ago. This complex
boasts the largest monolithic church in the world, a maze of passageways and tunnels, intricately
carved reliefs, and fabulous examples of icon paintings. Overnight Hotel – Lalibela - Day 3 - Lalibela
Take a morning hike with mules to Mount Asheton, with its 13th century rock-hewn monastery
and great views of the town, continue to visit the remaining rock churches in Laliebal Overnight
Lalibela - Day 4 - Lalibela – Semera
Early morning at 7am pickup from Hotel and continue the visit to the churches. If on special
Holiday or if it is Sunday, atend the early morning mass, and Continue the drive to Semera
through the low and Arid land of Wollo and Afar, Late afternoon arrival in Semera. Overnight
Hotel Semera - Day 5 - Semera – Dalol
Pick up from Hotel/Airport in Semera at 8 am then drive through Lake afdera the Salt Lake,
Passing through the beautiful lake afdera and a breath taking land scape and arrive in Dalol in the
afternoon and visit the lake Asebo Asebo is the place where the salts are mined. Observe the
breaking of the salt from the ground, cutting into rectangular pieces and loading on camels. You
drive ahead to Dallol (-130 m) and visit the difference landscape formed by volcanic activity,
Dallol + Lake Assal (-130 m), Excursion to Dallol (116 meters below sea level, one of the
lowest places in the world) colorful salts mining, visit Lake Assal, follow up camel caravans and
walk with the Afar people, see the sunsetig the beautiful and colorful land scape. Drive back to
Hamedela, Overnight Camping – Hamedela - Day 6 - Dalol - Earta’le Volcano
Early morning pickup from Hamedela camp site and drive to Dalol to see the sunrise, and Drive
to Hamedela through berhal’e. Passing through the small town Berhal’e, where the camel
caravan stops before passing to the Northern Highland. En route you will see many long camel
caravans going to the salt mine and other coming out of Danakil with their salt loaded on the
camel. then drive to Askoma which is around 80 Km distance may take about 6hrs, because of
the rocky solidified Lava, and sand. Stop at Askoma, Trek 10 minute from Askoma wich takes
around 3 Hours Arive at Earta’le around late afternoon and Early dinner at around 17:00 and trek
up to the new Erta Ale reach around 20:00. Camels transport all the camping materials and some

mattresses,and water, to the rim of the volcano, where we spend the night watching the dramatic
action of the boiling lava. New Erta Ale ranks one of the most alluring and physically
challenging natural attractions anywhere in Ethiopia. It is a shield volcano with a base diameter
of 30 km and 1km square caldera at its summit. New Erta Ale is part of the world’s only
permanent lava lake and you will spend an unforgettable night on the top of the mountain. The magma flow moved 3.5 km south from old Erta Aleto the New eruption site. Overnight –
Camping - Day 7 - Earta’le Volcano – Semera
Woke up early in the morning waching the Two Miraculaos things on Earth, The Sun rising and
the Magma, Morning Trek back to Askoma where breakfast will be served, and asfter spending
sometime at the campsite drive back to Semera. Overnight – Hotel in Semera - Day 8 - Addis Ababa – Djibouti
Fly to Djibouti on Ethiopian Airline, pick up from the airport and transfer to the hotel and late
afternoon visit the city djibouti with our guide Overnight Minilik Hotel - Day 9 - Djibouti – Lac Abe
After breakfast, pickup from the Hotel in Djibouti, and continue the drive to Lac Abhe through
the busy road that goes to Ethiopia. Lac Abbe is also referred as the rotten lake locate between
the Djibouti and Ethiopian border, and it is one of the biggest from the six lake surrounding the
afar triangle, on our way to lac abbe we might have a chance to spot some wild animal such as
gazelle and ostriches. The dry part of the lac exposes the previous underwater chimney, also
known as Mont Michele, and visit the lac filled with flamingoes and different other goose.
Overnight Camping - Day 10 - Lac Abe – Lac Assale – Tadjourah
We will woke up early in the morning and see the sun rising over the chimney after breakfast
continue the drive to Lac Asale, Lac assale is a crater lake in central-western Djibouti. It is
located at the western end of Gulf of Tadjoura between Arta Region, and Tadjoura Region,
touching Dikhil Region, at the top of the Great Rift Valley, some 120 km (75 mi) west of
Djibouti city. Lake Assal is a saline lake that lies 155 m (509 ft) below sea level in the Afar
Triangle, making it the lowest point on land in Africa and the third-lowest point on Earth after
the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea. Spend some time in Lac Assale and drive to tadjourah for
an overnight. Overnight Tadjourah - Day 11 - Djibouti – Hargessa
Morning visits the oldest town in Djibouti, and its know for its whitewashed building, continue
the drive Djibouti city and take the late afternoon flight from Djibouti city to Hargessa Overnight
Hargessa - Day 12 - Hargessa City Tour and Las Geel
Morning visit to the livestock market in hargessa, and continue the visit to the Civil War
Memorial, After Lunch continue the visit to Las Geel, The most important site in africa is located
very close to Hargessa and visit the colorful and wel preserved painting estimated to be painted
thousends years ago. - Day 13 - Hargessa – Addis Ababa
After breakfast drive back to the airport optional Visit the National Museum, home of the 3
million year old skeleton “Lucy.” Optional souvenir shopping. Enjoy a farewell dinner at a
traditional Ethiopian restaurant featuring dancers and musicians representing some of the
country's many ethnic groups.
