- Day 1 - Guadeloupe Sea Excursion
1 departure possible in the morning:
9 a.m. to 12 p.m. so go 8:30.
It is a guided, educational and educational excursion that allows you to find and observe wild animals in natural environments.
With us, marine mammals are not found in a lagoon, a specific area or a usual sector they are never in the same places and the meeting is very often merited, which gives great emotions ...
We have the chance to observe humpback whales, sperm whales, dolphins, pilot whales, pseudo killer whales ...
More or less 20 species of cetaceans frequent the waters of the AGOA sanctuary where we sail every day.
As soon as the departure is made, several themes are discussed with explanations as well as educational materials concerning dolphins, whales and sperm whales of Guadeloupe, then we go in search of marine mammals, research which will be punctuated by explanations and several listening under- marines using a hydrophone (an underwater microphone).
Our parabolic hydrophone allows us to detect sounds in the sea such as the whistles or clicks of dolphins, the songs of whales, the clicks or codas of sperm whales, the pulses of whales up to distances of 20 kilometers, which allows us to choose a direction of research giving us more chances and choices to observe cetaceans.
(No swimming and launching possible because the approach within 300 meters of cetaceans is prohibited in the AGOA sanctuary, therefore in all waters under French jurisdiction in the West Indies)
Our captain being "Cetacean guides of the AGOA sanctuary " we can approach them up to 100 meters.
Once the animals are found, application of our approach protocol in conscience, respectful and discreet because in small groups and with latest generation engines, for the greatest respect for dolphins, whales and sperm whales of Guadeloupe.
Our “conscious” approach and observation protocol is applied to each outing, which over time has created a climate of confidence allowing the animals to better tolerate our presence.
Once the first sighting is done, we will try to find another cetacean species if possible for a possible second sighting before returning to the base port.
Our boat is perfect for families with young children and even babies as our passengers have the option of not being exposed to direct sunlight or rain for the duration of the excursion.
