- Day 1 - Arrival in Budapest
Your comfy design hotel is perfectly situated on Buda right at the Danube, few minutes’ walk from the downtown and the Castle Hill. You can enjoy your welcome dinner with us here, and a beautiful view of the Royal Palace or the Danube from your room.
- Day 2 - Cycling in the Mátra Hills
Rolling down in beautiful woods with panoramic views we visit a Crystal Workshop to see (or buy) their unique products, and biking to a Horse-Carriage Museum you can learn why „coach” word derives from Hungary. We stay 2 nights in a marvellous Neobaroque Castle surrounded by a wonderful park in a small village famous for Lipizzan horses and excellent trouts. (cycling appr 34km/21m)
- Day 3 - Bike tour among miracles of nature
Cycling through the forests in a wonderful National Park of Hungary you’ll enjoy a stunning view of the Bükk Hills from a look-out tower. We cycle along the picturesque Szalajka Valley and its highlights, the Veil-Waterfall, Rock Spring, and incredibly clear lakes with lots of trouts. We visit the famous Lipizzan horses, and ride back to our Castle where you can enjoy its lovely swimming pools and atmosphere. (cycling appr 23km/14m)
- Day 4 - Amazing tour in the world of dripstones
You’ll take a fantastic walking tour in the Aggtelek Stalactite Caves. This is one of the most imposing caves of Europe, and part of the World Heritage. After this unique experience we cycle along nice landscapes to a cosy hunting lodge, enjoy their home-made game specialities, the peacefulness and the great view from the terrace. - Day 5 - Cycling from Zemplén Treasures to Tokaj Wines
We visit a fantastic medieval fortress on the top of a volcanic hill, with breathtaking panorama. We bike through lovely forests & villages to another World Heritage, where the noblest sweet wine of the world, the Tokaj Aszú is made. A unique wine-tasting in an antique 13th century cellar of a top winery of Hungary, and we’ll be guests of a noble family in their 19th century luxury castle for 2 nights. Now you can get refreshed inside on their terrace, or outside in the swimming pool. (cycling appr 45km/28m)
- Day 6 - Biking around the Tokaj vineyards
We bike along a small river to a castle of the Rákóczis, who were reigning princes of Transylvania, and leaders of the great freedom fights against Austria in the 18th century. Cycling through the Geometrical Central Point of Europe, you can enjoy a culinary experience with tasting the „Wine of Kings, King of Wines” in a lovely gourmet restaurant, and than the organic Tokaj wines of the Contessa in our Castle. - Day 7 - Cycling from Castle to Castle
Cycling in the peaceful countryside along the Tisza, crossing the river on an antique ferry, we stop at the marvellous Neogothic Andrássy Castle in a beautiful English garden. Count Andrássy established the independent Hungarian state organisation after the compromise between Austria and Hungary in 1867. Some more biking and we end up in Lillafüred, where we stay in a splendid Neo-Renaissance Palace at a beautiful lake wedged between massive hills, providing a really picturesque impression. - Day 8 - Bike & Wine trips in the Bükk & Eger
Cycling through beautiful forests and meadows of the Bükk Plateau with lots of scarce flowers, and an awesome downhill bike ride to the “Baroque Jewel” Eger. It’s time to taste our famous red wine, the „Bull’s Blood” in a unique cellar of a top winemaker of Hungary. A nice walk in the historic town (protecting it from the Turks was our great victory in 1552) to admire its Cathedral, Main Square, or the County Hall’s wrought iron gates, and we get to our hotel in Budapest, and have our farewell dinner in a traditional local restaurant. - Day 9 - Tour end in Budapest
