Ever wondered what it is like to visit Iraq? Now is your chance to go and find out.
Join our 7-day trip covering ancient historical sites, holy cities and cultural place that few outsiders get to see. The way we have decided to set up this trip is by having a 7-day group trip going to Baghdad, Najaf, Karbala and Babylon first since these cities are considered to be among the safest cities to visit in the country. If you feel more adventurous and would like to explore more after the trip is over, then no worries! You are more than welcome to come along and join us to other cities, which can be booked as add-ons that you will find in our Iraq section.
- Day 1 - Arrival in Baghdad
Arrival in Baghdad and transfer to your hotel. There are no activities planned for this day, except for a welcome meeting in the hotel restaurant at 8pm.
- Day 2 - Tall Akarkuf
After breakfast, we will set off to visit the Ziggurat in Tall Akarkuf before returning to Baghdad for lunch. In the afternoon we will be visiting the Ad- Kadhimiya Mosque before we go to see the markets and cafes that Baghdad is famous for. If time permits we will go to the famous Marty’s Monument built by Saddam Hussein.
- Day 3 - Babylon
Today we will drive to Babylon to hear stories of the ancient Babylonian Empire and to see artefacts that have been left untouched like the Lion of Babylon, and to other sites that have been reconstructed by Saddam. We will also visit one of his mansions built by as well as the site believed to be where the Tower of Babel was built. After visiting Babylon we will drive to the holy city of Karbala, and see it beautifully lit up at night and spend the night there.
- Day 4 - Imam Hussein and Imam Abbas
After breakfast we will go explore the holy shrines of Imam Hussein and Imam Abbas, which are considered to be some of the holiest places for Shia Muslims, attracting millions of pilgrimage visitors from all over the World every year. We will have our lunch in Karbala before continuing the program in Najef, which is famous for the shrine of Imam Ali and for having the Worlds largest cemetery. The Imam Ali Shrine is beautifully lit up at night and there is also a nice corniche that we will visit. We will spend the night in Najaf.
- Day 5 - Al Diwaniyah
Afer breakfast and some exploring we will drive to Al Diwaniyah where we will stop for lunch and a photo opportunity with the largest Iraqi flag you will ever see. When we arrive in Baghdad in the afternoon we will see the sunset by the Martyr's Monument if we didn't already visit there before, or we will head to Zawraa Park where there are cafés and a monument called the Save the Iraqi Culture Monument.
- Day 6 - Al Mutanabi park and The national museum of Iraq
In the morning we will have some hours to explore the Al Mutanabi park and the national museum of Iraq. After an early lunch, we will set off to Al Madain where we will visit the Arch of Cstesiphon (known as Taq Qasrah in Arabic), which is the largest single-span vault of unreinforced brickwork in the World. In case you will need a COVID test before departure, we will arrange this today, in order to have it ready for your flight.
- Day 7 - Free Day
There are no planned activities today, so after breakfast, you will have the option to either leave or to join one of the trip add-ons to other cities.
- This trip includes all transport, accommodation and English speaking guide only.
- Exclusions are entry tickets, food, visa and optional tips to guides.

Please note that the price is calculated based on 5 or more travelling together. With lower amounts of people, the price may have to be increased by 30% to cover additional costs.
