Overview
Thaba Tours offers airport pick-up and a city orientation tour for clients at Maseru Airport, including a visit to "The Hat" in the lively but not conventionally beautiful city of Maseru. The journey continues through various towns and scenic routes, including a stop at the highest road in Africa, Tlaeng Pass, and visits to historical sites such as Hlotse and Roma. It also includes a visit to the impressive Maletsunyane Falls, the highest single-drop waterfall in Southern Africa, before returning via the scenic Baboon Pass, passing through picturesque landscapes and villages, with opportunities to discover local medicinal plants along the way.

- Day 1 - Lesotho Maseru Capital City
Thaba Tours will pick –up your clients from Maseru Airport, and do orientation of the City Tour, visit the Hat. (Depending on the arrival time) you will have the opportunity to stroll through the streets of the capital with its population of 176.000. Modern Maseru could hardly be described as beautiful but it is certainly animated.
After lunch continue our journey via Teya Teyaneng (TY), Leribe Farmers Training Center to the town of Hlotse. It is the administration center of the Leribe district and originated in 1876 when a Mission outpost was established here, visit the craft centre, then have dinner at Lodge.
- Day 2 - Roof of Africa
Breakfast at the lodge. Our journey takes us on tar road onto the summit of the highest road in Africa, the Tlaeng Pass (2.550m) – The Roof of Africa. Past Letseng diamond mine, Lunch on route. Dinner at Hotel.
- Day 3 - Maluti Mountain
After breakfast, we departure on toward road to Thaba Tseka, Passing Basotho Villages along the route, past St. James Mission, have lunch on route. The Earliest permanent village built to graze animals in the Maluti Ha Khoanyane, known to have been in existence by 1893. It was founded east of mountain with prominent south –facing cliffs (on which a vulture colony had left a distinctive white mark) hence Thaba –Tseka, The Mountain with a blaze! Dinner at Lodge.
- Day 4 - Katse Dam and Mohale Dam
After breakfast, we continue our journey to Trading post, Lunch on route. Roma is the principal center of the Roman Catholic Church in Lesotho and since 1964 the site of the National University of Lesotho. The city was found in 1862 when King Moshoeshoe granted the site to Bishop Allard and Father Gerard. Dinner at the Guesthouse.
- Day 5 - Maletsunyane Falls (204)
After breakfast, travel on dirt road to the highest single drop waterfall in Southern Africa, the Maletsunyane Falls (204m) which is the 3rd longest single drop waterfall in the Southern Africa. Lunch at lodge. From the verandah guests have the opportunity to view the “Bald Ibis” (Nat. Bird of Lesotho) and their breeding site in the afternoon. May be horse riding!
- Day 6 - Maseru Airport (Moshoeshoe 1 Airport)
Transfer to Airport to Maseru Airport

General Information - Lesotho Overland Tours
• Every guest on tour is entering a rural and unspoiled African terrain. Therefore it is necessary to travel with a flexible and tolerant mind.
• Accommodations, bathroom facilities and meals are at most places very basic, simple and rustic.
• Most lunch stops base on packed lunches or picnic meals.
• There are no toilet facilities on route or very seldom.
• We reserve the right to alter any routes or itineraries should circumstances, like weather, road conditions, unforeseen obstacles, etc. so demand.
• Some accommodations use generators for the supply of electricity, which switches off at 22:00, and gas geysers for hot water supply.
