Overview
North Africa’s highest mountain is calling. On this tour, you will drive 90 minutes to Imlil, where you will begin your night hike. With a guide, a cook and a mule, you will cross the Mizane valley, to the sanctuary of Sidi Chamarouch and to the snow line to set up your camp. In the morning you will climb Mount Toukbal, bask in your achievement and return to civilization when you are ready.
Climbing Mount Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa at 4,167 metres above sea level, is a true struggle, especially in the winter. But, with the help of our knowledgeable and skilled guides, you will love the experience and it will stay a memory of a lifetime.
- Day 1 - Marrakech – Imlil – Toubkal Refuge
Departure from Marrakech at 8 a.m. to Toubkal passing through the beautiful Imlil village where you will discover many beautiful peasant villages exploiting terraced crops; and green and magnificent landscapes with superb panoramic views. on the way short stop for sidi chamharouch place of passage for locals coming to consult the marabout. After you will go up to the refuge (3100 m), you will spend the night in a refuge.
- Day 2 - Toubkal refuge – Toubkal Summit – Imlil
Wake up early to avoid the sunny way, breakfast around 5.00am and start the ascent climb at 5.30am, each one of you may need to pack his own pack-lunch, step by step until you get to the point above the hut where you have a short break with nuts, water & oranges etc..After 3h/4h walking up the hill, you will be able to see all the high atlas mountains like a view from the air, stunning view of the green valleys & Berber villages, a break of 45min on the summit will allow to take pictures & enjoy the views before heading down to the hut, a diversify lunch will be ready for you there. After lunch you walk down hill towards Imlil by the same route but you have an option to stay on the hut 2nd night depending to your flight time & holiday schedule (to be informed in advance if needed).Pick up from Imlil and return to your Riad in Marrakech or the airport.
