Overview
The Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the most breathtaking hiking trails in the Himalayas. It starts in Kathmandu, the lively capital city of Nepal, and takes you through various types of landscapes like forests, mountains, and charming Sherpa villages. Along the way, you will witness stunning views of the Everest Mountain range, including the mighty Mount Everest itself, the tallest mountain in the world.
A 14-day journey across Nepal's Khumbu region, the Everest Base Camp Trek offers breathtaking vistas of the Himalayas, Sherpa communities, and glaciers. - Day 1 - Arrive in Kathmandu
Our support team will pick you up at the airport, then take you to your hotel. The rest of the day is reserved for rest.
- Day 2 - Drive Kathmandu to Ramechhap and fly to Lukla & trek to Phakding [2,656m]
You will enjoy a 30-minute flight to Lukla Airport from Kathmandu Airport or Ramechhap. Lukla is a cliff-hanging airport in the Khumbu region, from where the real trekking adventure begins. From Lukla airport, climb up to the Dudh Koshi Valley to Phakding to spend the night.
- Day 3 - Phakding to Namche [3,450m]
From Phakding, you will walk to Monjo along the round river. After crossing it several times on the high suspension bridge, you reach Monjo, which is the entry point to Sagarmatha National Park. Then, you will ascend along a steep trail until you reach Namche, where you spend the night.
- Day 4 - Rest Day in Namche
Namche is the major trading village in Khumbu and is home to a busy market. It is also a meeting spot for Tibetan and Hindu traders. A rest day for acclimatization and exploration. You can also enjoy walking around the market.
- Day 5 - Namche to Debuche [3,770m]
Today’s trek will comprise the popular descent to the Dudh-Koshi River and the equally popular ascent along the rhododendron woods to Tengboche. After hours of hiking, you will reach Phunki Tenga, where you have lunch before you continue to climb up to Tengboche. On this climb, you will pass through rhododendron trees and witness superb mountain scenery.
- Day 6 - Debuche to Pheriche [4,252m]
You continue climbing down through a forest and reach the village of Pangboche. Pangboche village rewards you with remarkable views of mountains, Gompa, mani walls, and triangular pine trees. After soaking up the spectacular view, you walk two more hours to reach Pheriche to spend the night.
- Day 7 - Rest Day in Pheriche
A day for rest and acclimatization. You can roam around the valley to check out a lake, the perpendicular walls of Cholastse, and the Tshola Tsho. You can also climb up to the elevation to observe the beautiful view of the Imja Valley and the incredible south face of Mt Lhotse.
- Day 8 - Pheriche to Lobuche [4,930m]
Leaving Pheriche, you Continue to walk along the wide valley beneath the imposing Cholatse and Tawache peaks. You then make a right turn and ascend towards the foot of the Khumbu Glacier. Have lunch at Dugla and climb slowly along the glacier until you reach Lobuche.
- Day 9 - Lobuche to Gorak Shep [5,184m], Visit Everest Base Camp [5,364m]
The Everest Base Camp visit day. Get up early in the morning and head towards the Everest Base Camp via Gorak Shep. On this route, you will get to experience stunning ice summits and deadly crevasses.
- Day 10 - Early morning climb Kala Patthar [5,545m] and Trek back to Pheriche [4,252m]
A very early trek is essential to reach the Kala Patthar (5,545m). The sight from the top of Kala Patthar is one of the best views of the mighty Everest. You will have a good opportunity to soak up the views before walking back to your camp at Gorak Shep. Here you will have lunch and then descend to Pheriche.
- Day 11 - Pheriche to Namche Bazaar [3,450m]
Today is mostly a downhill trek. You walk along a river before hiking through birch and rhododendron woodland to Tengboche. From Tengboche, you descend to a bridge over the Dudh Kosi. At Phunki Tenga, you get to experience the water-driven prayer wheels, before making your way back to Namche.
- Day 12 - Namche Bazaar to Lukla [2,860m]
Our final day of trekking returns us to the town of Lukla, where the overnight stay gives you time to explore the town as well as to gaze upon the mountains you have recently visited for one last time before heading back to Kathmandu.
- Day 13 - Fly from Lukla to Ramechhap and Drive to Kathmandu
You pack up early and head to the Lukla airport to catch a flight back to Ramechhap or Kathmandu. The rest of your day is free for your leisure.
- Day 14 - Final Departure
Our representative will drop you at the airport 3 hours before the flight time to your homeland. This concludes your 14-day EBC trek with a lifetime of memories.
