Overview

Millennium trek, also known as the mid-hill ridgeline trek, is a recently started homestay trekking trail run by a community or forum of local people, one in each village of western Nepal. More than 30 diverse and hospitable villages of Tanahun and Syanja are included in this. The main motive for starting the Millennium trek is to provide foreigners with the authentic experience of these villages and their lifestyle by offering them homestay. At the same time, they enjoy visiting the unexplored beauty of Nepal.

The local residents of this region, Gurung, Magar, Brahmin, and Chettri, and their diverse cultures co-exist peacefully, adding to the beauty of this Millennium trek. Since it offers the opportunity of homestay trekkers get a once-in-a-lifetime chance to observe vivid Nepali culture closely as well as be a part of it. They will also get exposure to cultural activities of different ethnic groups like Ghatu, Kauda, Salaijo, Jhora, Thado Bhaka, Sorathi, and many more.

The Millennium trek is more like a vacation that lets you get closer to nature and various groups of people with different values in life. As the Millennium trek is strain free, and can be done by any age with average health, and altitude sickness is not going to be a problem at all, it is an ideal option for beginners.

  • Day 1 - ARRIVE IN KATHMANDU

    Once you reach the arrival section of Tribhuvan International airport, you will be welcomed by one of our team members. Then you will be given a brief description of how the millennium trek goes, followed by escorting you to a hotel in our private vehicle. We will enjoy a heartwarming dinner and spend the night at the hotel.

  • Day 2 - KATHMANDU SIGHT SEEING

    The Millennium trek officially starts on this day. Your day will begin with a delicious breakfast. After that, we will take you around beautiful Kathmandu, the cultural and historical site of study and excursion will leave you amazed by its balance of modernization and cultural value. As it is home to 7 UNESCO world heritage sites, we will try to explore and admire the uniqueness ofas many of them as possible. You will stay overnight in a hotel.

  • Day 3 - DRIVE TO POKHARA

    On this day, as soon as we are done with breakfast, our drive to Pokhara begins. After 7 to 8 hours long drive admiring scenic beauty around, villages, and terrific landscapes on the way, we reach ‘the city of lakes’ Pokhara which flaunts lakes, mountains caves like Mahendra, Chamero, and temples. You will spend the night in a hotel with a comforting view of the lakeside.

  • Day 4 - POKHARA SIGHT SEEING

    Be ready to be blessed with a view of Pokhara's magical mountains and lakes on this day. Your day will spend sightseeing places like World peace stupa, Begnas lake, Phewa Tal (lake), Tal Barahi temple, etc. We will also have short but fun boating around Phewa lake. Our night will comprise a walk around the lakeside which looks glorious, with lights lit around the city, and then rest in a hotel.

  • Day 5 - POKHARA TO RAJASTHAL

    After driving for 22 kilometers via Dulegaunda from Pokhara, we reach Gachhepani, located in the Gandaki zone. We start trekking towards Rajasthal on our feet. Gachhepani has an opening to a bird’s eye view of villages like Khairenitar, Bhimad, and Dulegaunda. Once in Rajasthal, we will be observing the ruins of the early king’s palace. Then you will finally get the experience of living like Nepali people in a homestay for the night, followed by a cultural show.

  • Day 6 - TREK RAJASSTHAL TO GHADERI

    We will start our day with a golden sunrise. Followed by breakfast, you start trekking for the day towards the millennium cave, where you will observe beautiful land structures with unique waterfalls as well as historical forts. Then we trek for a few hours till we reach Gharedi. Here as well you spend the night with local people in the homestay.

  • Day 7 - TREK GHADERI TO POKHARICHHAP

    Starting the day with an early morning breakfast, we continue trekking towards Pokharichhap, also known as Kolma. Pokharichhap will have you astonished with its rich culture. Through scenic beauty and snow-capped mountains, we arrive at Pokharichhap where traditional food, culture, and local dance performance will be waiting for you. Another new homestay experience will end the trek for the day.

  • Day 8 - TREK POKHARICHHAP TO PELAKCHAUR

    Pelkachaur, a small village where diverse ethnic groups like Brahmin, Chhetri, Gurung, Magar, etc., reside, is our destination for the day, followed by Breakfast. We spend the night in Pelkachaur homestay.

  • Day 9 - TREK TO PELAKCHAUR TO MAJHKOTSIBALAYA

    Trekking for about 5 hours after breakfast, you arrive at Majhkotsibalaya (Majhkot). This village is surrounded by big green hills from all sides. It will give you exposure to different day-to-day activities of local people, like weaving, farming, cattle herding, etc. You will end the day with a cultural music performance by the locals. We will spend yet another night with locals in their homes with them.

  • Day 10 - TREK TO RAMBADHHA AND DRIVE TO POKHARA

    The first half of the trek on this day will be walking, and the other half will be driving in our private vehicle. You will start the day by enjoying a warm breakfast and walking through beautiful villages; we arrive at Rambachha, and from here, we drive to Pokhara. Then you will be transferred to a hotel in Pokhara, where you will stay overnight.

  • Day 11 - POKHARA TO KATHMANDU

    The first half of the trek on this day will be walking, and the other half will be driving in our private vehicle. You will start the day by enjoying a warm breakfast and walking through beautiful villages; we arrive at Rambachha, and from here, we drive to Pokhara. Then you will be transferred to a hotel in Pokhara, where you will stay overnight.

  • Day 12 - DEPARTURE

    On this day, all the preparation for you to leave Nepal will be made, for every preparation our team will be helping and guiding you. Then we escort you to airport to wish you a safe flight.

Important Information

It's one of the lowest-altitude treks possible in the near Annapurna region. It's also an easy trek in Nepal. It's perfect for those who want to enjoy the culture and tradition of the overlooked villages of western Nepal without worrying about altitude sickness. Therefore, it's one of the best low-altitude trekking routes in Nepal.
