Overview

The short Inca Trail (two days trekking) to Machu Picchu is an exclusive route for those who enjoy nature; along this route, we will be able to observe the different species of wild orchids, as well as animals in their natural habitat. You will have an incredible experience in a shorter period of time, so you will visit Machupicchu up to two times. During your tour along the Short Inca Trail, we will offer you a box lunch prepared by our chef who specializes in typical food of the region; this is made based on organic products grown by ourselves, and your food will be based on your energy requirement along the Short Inca Trail.
During your visit on the second day, you will be able to climb the famous Huayna Picchu or Machupicchu mountain.

  • Day 1 - Cusco - Km 104 - Wiñay Wayna Site - Aguas Calientes

    Our private van will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco or Urubamba and take you to the train station in Ollantaytambo. We will travel for an hour and a half on a scenic train before arriving at the beginning of the KM 104 trail (Chachabamba ruins). En route, you will understand why the Incas called this place "Sacred Valley ."Snow-capped mountains rise above green fields. We will continue to descend into the Ceja De Selva or cloud forest and see the Urubamba River flowing through this picturesque landscape.
    At the trailhead, KM 104, we will be near the registration point and the beginning of our Short Inca Trail. Our first ruin will be the site of Chachabamba (2050 m), which is masterfully built in an excellent location. A 3-hour hike uphill will take us to the magnificent archaeological center called Wiñay Wayna (2650m). This will be our lunch spot for the day.
    Our journey continues through the semi-tropical forest for 2 hours until we reach Intipunku, the mystical Sun Gate, which will offer us our first panoramic view of the Machu Picchu site! You will see how beautifully the Incas placed this Citadel between the mountain peaks, the green Sacred Valley, and the beautiful Urubamba River. Another 30 minutes of walking will take us to the Citadel, where we will have an ideal opportunity to take pictures and enjoy the sunset. Then, a bus will take us to Aguas Calientes (2030m), where we will spend the night.

  • Day 2 - Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

    After a hot breakfast at the hotel, we will take the early bus to Machu Picchu; we will climb for an hour and a half until we reach the mountain of Machu Picchu to have a panoramic view of the entire contour of the Inca Citadel, this will be a unique and unforgettable experience. Then you will have a 2 to 3-hour tour to get the information about the sacred city and the opportunity to explore and admire the Inca ingenuity. Then we will head back to Aguas Calientes by bus and to Cusco by train.
    Note:
    If you wish to hike Huayna Picchu mountain, you must inform Wari Adventures before traveling to Peru in order to book in advance.

DISCOUNTS
- Students: Those who have a valid ISIC CARD, in case of booking under the student rate with this benefit, must bring the original card (not a copy) to show it at the checkpoints along the Inca Trail. If the card is not shown, you will be denied entrance to the Inca Trail as the permits purchased for you will no longer be valid.
- Children: Between 7 and 17 years old (at the beginning of the Inca Trail) pay the student rate; however, they must show a copy of their passports.
- Children under seven years old: They have a 30% discount.
TRAVEL INFORMATION
LUGGLAGE STORAGE:
- The trips on the Inca Trail and alternate routes do not need to carry your luggage for which we have the luggage storage service in our office; if you return from your trip to the same hotel where you stayed, you can leave it.
- This equipment will be returned at the moment you return from your trip and taken it with you to your hotel. If you have valuable things, please contact us to take them into account and protect them.
PICK-UPS
- The pick-up times will be coordinated with the group leader; this will be done from your hotel, lodging and Airbnb for which the passenger must provide the exact address and reference; the pick-up time is usually at 5:00 am for the different routes.
RETURN TO CUSCO
- The return from the city of Machupicchu requires absolute punctuality for the organization of transportation, for which we will provide all the details of the return.
- We buy the train tickets normally for 2:55 pm, so you can arrive at 7:00 pm in the city of Cusco, consider the time delay due to traffic in the city of Cusco.
- The return is included transportation and transfers; we will be aware of any changes or delays in the transportation service and train service.
