Overview
San Sebastian is one of those places that’s been touched by magic. That’s why the Stoke Surf House’s doors are open to surfers (or non-surfers) of all levels and travelers from far and wide, to share this stunning place with the world! Stay at our little slice of paradise, just 20 minutes outside of San Sebastian, in a beautiful house in the heart of Basque Country, with breakfast, lunch and dinner included, you’ll be starting your day right with a delicious chef-prepared meal before our surf instructors take you to a local beach break. Everyone’s welcome, from beginners to the most accomplished surf dudes and dudettes, our surf instructors are fun, friendly and happy to help. We’ll have you standing in no time, and for those more experienced, our guides will show you where to get the best waves. After you’ve surfed to your heart’s content it’s a relaxed lunch followed by another surf, exploring the Basque country…or maybe the first beer of the day!
There’s a bunch of activities on offer, from cliff-jumping and hiking, for the adrenaline junkies, to pintxo tours through the Michelin-starred streets of San Sebastian for the foodies. Whatever happens, with more bars per square metre than anywhere else in the universe, it’s bound to end in a massive party, hopping from one bar to another or dancing until the sun comes up over La Concha beach…. good thing surfing is the perfect hangover cure!
Your meals are prepared, your beers chilled, your beds made for your arrival and your party nights pre-organised. What a treat! The friends you’ll make at our San Sebastian Surf Camp are some of the best folk around, open-minded, international travelers gathering from all over the world, so there’ll be languages to learn and stories to hear over a beer or seventeen (or sangria if that’s more your jam, go unlimited for 10€ per day).
We provide free transfers from SAN PELAIO train station in Zarautz at 9am, 1pm and 7pm. To be confirmed with info@stoketravel.com at least 24 hours in advance.
Our Surf House feels just like home (except way more fun), we can’t wait to meet you and make mi casa su casa!
- Day 1 - A Day in the Life at the San Sebastian Surf House
The beauty of staying at the San Sebastian Surf House is that you can do whatever you like, whenever you like, your way. However, there are a few things you probably don't want to miss each day, primarily being your two hours of surf lessons (surf-board and wetsuit hire included), daily yoga sessions, and your healthy and hearty daily breakfast, lunch and dinner. Here's a little sample of what your first 24 hours might look like at the house:
13.00: We'll pick you up from the local train station and take you back to the Surf House to check in. If you arrive early, no worries! Have a beer on us, complimentary pick ups are from San Pelaio train station in Zarautz. Please contact us at least 24 hours prior at info@stoketravel.com.
16.00: You're knackered from a big session in the water; that's when our head Yogi comes to the fore for our daily yoga session - they'll have you stretched out and relaxed in no time.
17.00: You head back up to the house, take a quick shower and head straight to the open bar - anyone for a game of ping pong?
19.30: A delicious chef-prepared dinner is served. The bar is still in full flow, but a little less well-stocked since you've been around.
21.00: You head to the top of the hill behind the house to witness a pretty damn breathtaking sunset. A couple more sangrias and surely it's time for bed.
09.00: You wake up for breakfast feeling surprisingly chipper; no hangover? "Am I still drunk?" Either way, chow down on some delicious breaky - you're gonna need it before another big day in the surf.
10.00: You head down to the beach and get straight back into it - just another day in paradise.
