Overview

The FGASA Nature Enthusiast online course is an 8-week program that offers flexibility, allowing you to study at your own pace from the comfort of your home. It caters to individuals with a passion for nature who seek self-enrichment and a broader understanding of the natural world, without necessarily pursuing a career as a field guide.

In this course, you'll explore a wide range of topics, including nature conservation, animal behavior, and best practices in habitat control and management. Subjects covered encompass geology, weather and climate, mammals, astronomy, ethology, conservation management, birds, and plants. The focus is on nature, biodiversity, and our role as stewards of the environment. The foundational theory is reinforced through real-world case studies, expert-led lectures, practical exercises, and assignments to apply your knowledge.

Throughout the course, you'll receive support from a professional field guide and a dedicated student support manager, ensuring an engaging and motivating learning experience. The FGASA Nature Enthusiast online course is certified by the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa and aligns with the Nature Site Guide (NQF2) qualification, providing a recognized credential for your nature exploration and conservation efforts.
