Overview
Volunteer at our partner school, Future Leaders, to make a difference in the lives of children from disadvantaged backgrounds in Ghana. These kids rely on this school for an education they couldn't otherwise afford. You'll have the chance to teach a variety of subjects, from English and Math to Art and local languages. Our volunteers also provide essential support, including resources like uniforms, books, and more. While no specific qualifications are required, enthusiasm and an open mind are highly valued.
This project is incredibly rewarding, allowing you to witness the impact you can have on these eager-to-learn students. Weekends are free for exploration, and our in-country team provides support throughout your stay. Join us in creating a brighter future for these children.

Important Information
Our projects run throughout the year so you can choose to arrive when it is best for you. If you are unsure we recommend arriving on the first weekend of each month. Most people choose to arrive on the weekend but we are flexible so you can choose the dates that suit you best.
Upon arrival at Accra Kotoka international airport, a member of the Akwaaba team will be outside the arrivals hall to pick you up. We will let you know before your flight exactly who that will be and once they get to the airport they will send you a message so you know exactly where they will be standing. They will be wearing an Akwaaba Volunteer Tshirt and have a sign with your name on it for easy identification.
From the airport the accommodation is a 20 minute drive away. Once you arrive you will get a tour of the house and be given access to the WIFI to let your family and friends know you arrived safely and then the fun begins!
