Overview

Our newest program. The YSE program aims to address our long term goal of eradicating financial poverty by 2050 through the medium of Micro Enterprise start-ups. As a 'Youth Livelihoods Facilitator' you will deliver a comprehensive curriculum that is designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs to escape from poverty by guiding them all the way from 'Idea Generation' to setting up and running their own micro-enterprise.

Placement Overview:
Travel to the very edge of the wilderness to our Hub in Bukit Lawang. Situated on the edge of the Endangered Leuser Ecosystem, the last place on Earth where you can find Elephants, Tigers, Rhinos, Bears and Orangutans living together in the wild!
You will contribute towards our program objectives of helping our entrepreneurs escape the grip of poverty by delivering a comprehensive business start-up curriculum.
You will spend most of your time at our Community Centre in Bukit Lawang delivering YSE classes to a wide range of classes of varying ages and abilities, including an adult class and an advanced class.

Your Impact:
During the course of your placement as one of our Youth Livelihoods Facilitators, you will be delivering a comprehensive curriculum built around tried and tested start-up strategies.
You will be providing FREE business start-up coaching to dozens of young aspiring entrepreneurs, and giving them the skills they need to raise themselves and their families out of poverty and into a better standard of living.
Our YSE program has been designed from day 1 alongside community members and together Program Objectives have been established in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. During your time on this program, you will be working towards meeting those goals as a team.
