Overview

Our medical program in Tanzania offers placement in clinics or hospitals based on your experience. You'll shadow healthcare workers, observe the Tanzanian healthcare system, and provide supervised basic patient care. Periodically, we conduct medical outreach in rural villages, with volunteers covering associated costs, typically ranging from $5 to $15 per volunteer, depending on logistics.

Our program aims to enhance your skills, deepen your understanding of global health, and teach you how to provide quality care with limited resources. We seek open-minded, compassionate individuals, including doctors, nurses, medical/nursing students (with two years of schooling), paramedics, EMTs, and CNAs. Placement depends on your expertise, supported by transcripts, reference letters, and a CV.

A one-time $100 contribution directly aids healthcare centers. Be adaptable, as practices may differ, and challenges like resource scarcity and high patient numbers may arise. Prioritize patient safety over personal methods.

Important Information

THINGS TO BRING, DONATIONS.
What to bring?
You are not mandated to bring anything to your volunteer placements apart from the center’s contribution, but if you feel like donating and sharing, it will be appreciated. There are many needs due to the limited resources these centers have, ranging from completing construction of the centers, products like gloves, surgical gloves, gauze, iodine, sanitizers, surgical blades, medical tapes, Band-Aids, First aid kits, sterilization tools etc.

Other things to bring are for your personal use on your placement like your Medical uniform perhaps a pair or two, medical glasses, a stethoscope, soap, slippers, towels, toiletries, sunscreen etc.
