Overview
Do you want to help build a better future for children by giving them valuable English skills? English skill is vital for Ugandan people to compete in today’s job market. Unfortunately, getting excess to English education is a daunting challenge for the Ugandan children as the majority of Ugandan people are living below the poverty line. Also, the schools located in rural and poorer areas are overcrowded and lack fluent English teachers. Due to this, the children find it difficult to get a good grasp of the English language. IFRE Volunteers teaching in Uganda program partners with local schools to change this situation.
When you join, you'll support the local teachers and help the youngsters achieve better English educational skills that they need to become well-rounded adults. You will help devise fun learning activities for the children and help the teachers with lesson planning and administrative duties. You will also help make school a fun place to be by organizing recreational activities like art, music and sports and provide inspiration to the children.
You will be fulfilled knowing that by sharing your English language skills, you have opened new possibilities for the disadvantaged children in Uganda. Your little effort and help will encourage the students to speak English, and gradually make them confident to face the world.
